Easter Assembly - Good Friday - Making Sacrifices

(0)
This is a plan for an assembly on Good Friday, with a focus on the theme of making sacrifices. There is an optional PowerPoint on the Good Friday story included. The plan is easy to follow and requires no resources, so is perfect for using at the last minute! I like leading assemblies that are interactive, engaging and relevant to the children’s lives. So this assembly involves you telling an anecdote about a recent event, as well as asking for volunteers to perform a school scenario. Children are encouraged to use these stories to think of small sacrifices they can make for others in their own lives. This is then linked to Jesus’s sacrifice on Good Friday. There is a lot of opportunity for children to think about their own experiences and to feedback. There is also an example prayer/reflection to finish with. A version of the Good Friday PowerPoint story is available separately: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/good-friday-presentation-11542698 You might also be interested in my Good Friday KS1 Lesson Plan: tes.com/teaching-resource/ks1-easter-re-lesson-good-friday-11830061 Good Friday KS2 Lesson Plan: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/good-friday-lesson-plan-easter-ks2-11515866
